The following QFT Education film events are part of a rolling programme which includes a selection of educational screenings which support the national curriculum and can be arranged at dates and times to suit individual schools.
Film screenings, workshops and film events can be tailored to suit individual schools' needs and can include an introduction, workshops, post-film discussions / quizzes and teaching packs specially designed to support the national curriculum.

Summer Screenings for Children
QFT's popular summer screenings for children return this year with introduced screenings of Ratatouille (U) for 5-9 year olds on Thurs 31 July and Kes (PG) for 10-14 year olds on Fri 1 Aug. QFT Schools programme
QFT will be launching the new schools programme for teachers at the annual Teachers Advisory Panel meeting on Thurs 4 Sept at 4pm at QFT. The new programme for 2008-09 will include a number of free screening events that will support the national curriculum, supported by Film Education, Cinemagic and Northern Ireland Screen. Free Film Screenings for Schools at QFT!
QFT, in association with Cinemagic, is delighted to announce a new Free Film Screenings for Schools initiative for 2008, kindly supported by Northern Ireland Screen and Film Education.
The first film to be shown at QFT on Thurs 12 June at 10.15am will be the Oscar-winning animation Spirited Away (PG), which is aimed at P6 and P7 pupils. The event includes a short introduction and will be finished at 12.30pm.
All bookings for Spirited Away are being co-ordinated by Film Education in London. To book a group to attend Spirited Away, teachers should contact Film Education directly, either by telephone on 020 7851 9464 or online in the events section of www.filmeducation.org .

Tales from Earthsea (PG), 2006
In the land of Earthsea , the very balance of the universe is threatened. Teenage Prince Arren - compelled by forces he cannot understand - kills his own father, steals the mystical royal sword, and escapes. Trekking the countryside, he meets a wise and powerful wizard, who is on a quest to explain why the balance of the world is slipping. The two become travel companions and together confront the henchmen of the evil wizard Cob, the source of Earthsea trouble.
This fantasy tale comes from the cult Studio Ghibli, which brought us Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle. Based on the unique series of books by Ursula Le Guin, this enchanting story marks the first feature for Goro Miyazaki, son of the celebrated director Hayao Miyazaki (Spirited Away).
