Tommy

15

Mon 26 Oct - 9.15pm

A truly spectacular experience, Russell’s rock opera was based on the Who’s 1969 album and starred lead singer Roger Daltrey as Tommy along with cameo appearances from fellow band members Pete Townshend and John Entwhistle and a star turn from Keith Moon as Uncle Ernie.

Born deaf, blind and mute to a violent father and sluttish mother, Tommy overcomes the odd to become a superstar, a pinball wizard and the leader of a quasi-religious cult.

Outrageously excessive and featuring a whole host of famous faces (Oliver Reed, Elton John, Tina Turner, Jack Nicholson) Tommy is a real reminder of just how gloriously glam rock ‘n’ roll was in the 1970s.
