Flickstock - Slade in Flame
In the hardships of northern England, a 1970s working class rock band struggles for stardom.
Dave, Noddy, Jim and Don of Slade star as the members of Flame, a band whose sudden rise to fame is beset with internal bickerings and the double dealings of the music industry.
Slade in Flame (or Flame to give it its correct title) is a semi-autobiographical account of the rock & roll life, but what makes the film so fascinating (and is no doubt responsible for the sizeable cult that surrounds the movie) are the often brutal scenes of authenticity that pervade throughout.
