Igor is a boxer who has quit the ring because of serious brain damage from repeated blows to the head. Yien Ha is a Vietnamese immigrant who works in a small ethnic restaurant. He wants a child, to leave something of himself behind; she needs a work permit to stay in Poland. They come to an understanding meant to make everybody happy.
