'The white man is not indigenous to Africa. Africa is for Africans. Zimbabwe is for Zimbabweans.' - Robert Mugabe. Since 2000, Zimbabwe’s President Mugabe has pursued an increasingly aggressive campaign of land reform, claiming land owned by white farmers and evicting them from their property. Violence and bloodshed have ensued and a number of white farmers and their black workers have been killed. One farmer, Michael Campbell, chose to put up a fight for his land, challenging Mugabe before the South African Development Community's international court, and accusing him and his government of racial discrimination and violation of Human Rights. Filmed covertly, Mugabe and the White African follows Michael’s crusade for justice and gives an unsettling and disturbing insight into the reality of life under Mugabe's dictatorship. Stirring and anger-inducing this is one of the most important documentaries of recent times.
