Willie Doherty - Ghost Stories: Alphaville

Lemmy Caution (Constantine) is an ‘outlander' secret agent battling against an electronic super-brain in control of Alphaville, urban centre of the future, that destroys anyone who opposes it. On his mission he meets and falls for Natacha (Karina), whose father is involved in the conspiracy.

A fantastical merge of several genres and influences, Godard's Alphaville is a delectable mesh of 1950s American film noir nostalgia, Orwellian themes, surrealist nuances, and New Wave cinematography. This film famously denies just about every filmic convention and should be celebrated for it.
