Screening from beautiful 35mm, The Sweet East is a darkly comic travelogue through underground America featuring an all-star indie cast.

Lillian (Talia Ryder, Never Rarely Sometimes Always) is a high school senior from South Carolina who gets her first glimpse of the wider world on a class trip to Washington, D.C. Separated from her schoolmates, she embarks on a fractured road trip in search of America. Along the way, she falls in with a variety of strange factions, each living out their own alternative realities in our present day.

Co-starring Ayo Edebiri (The Bear), Jacob Elordi (Saltburn), Simon Rex (Red Rocket), and Earl Cave (True History of the Kelly Gang), Sean Price Williams’ feature directorial debut is an anarchic satire reminiscent of the work of the Safdie brothers.

"Fun and hot, smart and dumb, a total blast." - The Film Stage
